Body Shapes - How to Dress For Your Unique Body

Our body shapes are all unique. Fortunately, there are simple ways to determine what ensembles of wardrobe that is the most flattering to women's body shapes. The bottom line is to first determine your proportions, and then utilize our wardrobe ensembles to accentuate the best features--and hide everything else! It's what I'd refer to as "Enhance & Minimize".

Women body shapes are defined by how the curves connect the bust, waist, and hips.

With that in mind, the four basic body types are as follows:

  1. Apple body type are evident by a heavy top part of the body - 14% of women have this body shape. Generally the bust is three or more inches larger than hips. My advice is to emphasize the thighs, legs and butt in order to divert attention away from the waist and shoulders/arms. I recommend wearing long sleeves, and try to draw focus to the bust and neck by wearing, for example v-neck lines. Go with tops that "drape" over any love handles, like tunics and flowing tops with an empire waist (the waist begins just below the bust and flows outward). In the case of an endowed top (big breasts), go with dresses or tops that wrap around the waist and cross over the chest.
  2. Rectangular body type can be identified by a fall from the waist to the hips in a straight line that resembles more like a cylinder. About 46% of women have this shape. Tips: "pinch" the waist by wearing a belt to offer an illusion of a waistline existence or try to stick with ensembles that offer some kind of waistline feature that gives an illusion of curves to avoid looking lanky or boyish. Choose ruffles and frills to add silhouette or volume to give an impression of femininity to the figure. Avoid baggy jeans and track clothes that look boyish.
  3. Pear body type are determined by a heavy bottom with 20% of women having this shape. It is obvious that the hips are significantly larger than the bust for this body shape. The good news is there are ways to dress to create an illusion of a smaller hip and butt by drawing attention to the top part of the body such as a fuller blouse/top complimented by a properly fitted push-up bra.
  4. Hourglass body type considered the ideal shape and there are about 8% of women with this body shape. This body shape has a balanced size of hips and bust with a narrow waist. Since it's an ideal women's body shape, the options are more forgiving and should focus on flattering instead of flattening the beautiful curves.

Stay tuned for my more tips on how to dress to enhance your body shape.

Styles For Heavy Women

Being a plus-sized woman does not mean you have to sacrifice type. You don't have to hide behind baggy clothes to appear great. The greatest clothes for heavy women are tailored with clean lines. Don't sacrifice your personal design due to your size. Seek out clothes in unexpected places and learn to stay ahead of the style curve in your own person way.

Layering

Layering is one of the greatest methods to showcase your curves and feel comfy in your outfit. Many plus-sized tops are cut too short, where the bottom part ends at the navel. This is unflattering for most plus-sized women, since it draws attention to the belly area. Instead, wear a long tank top in a contrasting or similar colour under your shorter shirts to create an elongated look. Top your preferred sleeveless dress with a cropped cardigan or jacket.

Cardigans

Cardigans are an essential piece of a heavy woman's wardrobe. Feel great about wearing short-sleeved tops and dresses when you have a cardigan to complete the look. Knitted sweaters with three-quarter sleeves are perfect for summer, while longer sleeves and dark colors go perfectly in fall and winter. Try various necklines such as v-neck or scoop to add interest to your outfit. Pencil Skirts A pencil skirt works well for women with hourglass or pear-shaped figures. This product is important for the office or a night out on the town. Since the pencil skirt accentuates the waist, consider tucking in your shirt and completing the look with a cardigan. Kitten heels will look best with this skirt.

Belts

Numerous plus-sized women avoid belts, however belts assist shape your figure. Wearing a loose or flowing top with a belt positioned under your bust creates the appearance of a thinner waistline. Complete the look with a cardigan or blazer, and you're ready for a night out with the girls. Mid-Rise Jeans Low-rise jeans are not flattering on most people, including plus-sized women. When shopping for jeans, choose those with a classic or mid rise. This will allow you to avoid the dreaded "muffin top" and keep your belly and sides smooth under fitted shirts. Pick jeans with lycra for added stretch, and consider wearing them slightly above your belly button for the most flattering look.

Accessories

Accessories are a heavy woman's greatest friend. Take any old outfit and make it dazzle with the right necklace, earrings and handbag. This is where your personality could shine. Shop thrift stores for clutches and jewelry if you prefer a more antique look. If your favorite stores don't carry clothes in your size, search for handbags that represent the shops' signature types, and sport them with the clothes in your closet. Turn your jeans and T-shirt into something fabulous with studded earrings and a scarf.

Three Things That Make You Look Fat

When it comes to being a full-figured woman, while I love to love my curves, that doesn't mean that I like to look larger than I really am. When picking out pieces for your wardrobe there are a few things that you should NOT wear so that you don't add bulk to your already rounded figure.

MuuMuus

You probably knew that was coming but even for the sake of comfort you need to get rid of any over sized, baggy dresses - a.k.a muumuus. When you dress in clothes that are actually too large for you, instead of hiding your rounded curves, you are actually making yourself look unnecessarily bigger than you really are. Find fitted, tapered clothing that accentuates the curves you want to highlight as well as drawing any unwanted attention from those you want to hide.

Elastic-waist pants

Fashion has come along way baby! No longer is plus sized clothing just baggy tees and elastic waisted pants. You can now find trousers and jeans that fit many different full-figure shapes - including yours. Be adventurous and try out different name brands to find a pair that flatters your body as many designers clothing fits each person different whether you are an apple shape or a pear shape.

Granny Undies

They are called granny undies for a reason...they are for your grandmother. With so many lingerie retailers, there is no reason for you to be wearing granny panties. Nowadays you can find sexy matching panty sets in all colors of the rainbow. Sexy lingerie is the biggest confidence booster for any full-figured woman.

Steering clear of these three fashion faux pas will help you be more confident in yourself and your full-figured curves. Rather than hiding your curves behind unflattering clothes, flaunt them with fitted outfits.

Plus sized dresses size 26 or beyond that made fuller figured women look wonderful and were perfectly cut and designed were not as readily available as they are at this time. So, the retail world of bigger size clothing for women has exploded throughout the most recent few years and with the still rising use of home shopping through the online world, hundreds of niche retail retailers have sprung up serving the bigger size community who have been so undeserved previously.

In fact there is so much choice offered now in favor of plus size women that there is no reason for fuller figured women to have the excuse that they cannot find anything decent to wear.

Just by simply browsing the internet websites of the larger on-line retailers such as Avenue.com and Silhouettes.com to see that they have fashionable apparel ranging from fuller figure lingerie to plus size shirts as well as tunics, plus size coats and jackets for the winter along with plus size dresses and plus size swimwear for the summer season. How To Look Good And Feel Better?

Many women, no matter what age, no matter what shape or weight feel they do not have the ideal weight?

With aging our bodies change... our figure degrades. But sometimes even young fit women do not feel well in their skin. they have a beautiful body but think that they are not attractive. This issue comes from the belief that was created in childhood or in adolescence that we are not appropriate. We attribute rejection from others to our body image. But we all know that not everybody will like us and that we cannot like every body.

Our Body image is therefore related to our own perception, experience, or belief. If we become aware of this, then it is 50% of the issue resolved.

Then we can take action steps to correct. First of all, physical (with diet, exercise, re-looking, new hair cut, new wardrobe) but also with mental/emotional work (mirror work, self-love).

For 20 years I heard that I had big thighs and therefore believed that I was fat and unattractive. It cost me discomfort in society, missed opportunities in all levels.

Here are in brief the 9 tips:

Step 1: Take care of yourself

Step 2: Take Care of Your Personal Grooming

Step 3: Exercise To Help You Feel Sexy Even If You Are Overweight

Step 4: Get Plenty of Rest To Keep Up Self-Esteem

Step 5: Nice Clothes Will Help You Feel Sexy If You Are Overweight.

Step 6: Lose weight

Step 7: Eat better

Step 8: Sexiness Is an Attitude and State of Mind

Step 9: Tell Yourself That You Are Sexy And Beautiful For Just Being Who You Are

Be well.

Plus Size Designer Clothing Shopping Tips

Is shopping for plus size designer clothing fun for you? Most women genuinely enjoy a day at the mall shopping for the latest fashion trends, but for plus sized women, looking for new clothes is a major chore. Instead of getting excited looking for a hot style or a great bargain, these women are just looking for anything that has some style and fits properly. Shopping is no longer fun, but rather, is an almost depressing experience.

However, it does not have to be. It can, and should, be a fun and rewarding experience. I want to change the perception, and give you some great tips that will start making your shopping experience for plus size designer clothes truly exciting.

First, we need to change your mindset and expectation. Most women falsely feel that the only options are oversized skirts and really long dresses. The more you can cover up, the better, right? Wrong! Having all the extra material hanging off of you actually creates the perception of a larger body being hidden underneath than is actually there.

Let me ask you, how many times have you wished to lose just 15 to 20 pounds? Most plus sized women can do this almost instantly, at least in other peoples eyes, when they wear the right clothes for their body.

Focus your efforts on finding clothes that fit your frame. A nice A-Line skirt will do wonders for your body shape. Not only does it provide a slimming waistline, but it also over emphasizes the bottom of your legs to give the perception of a slimmer waist as well.

Avoid patterns in your clothes that tend to look stretched when they are on you. For example, blocks and rectangle shapes tend to stretch, giving off a look that is not near as flattering as a thin line or even a light floral print.

Above all else, focus on your neckline and chest area. Wear shirts and tops that show a little skin up top! This gives the visual image of a nice, long neckline, and takes the eyes to the more flattering parts of your body, and away from the mid section that you may be concerned about.

There are so many great plus size designer clothes out there that are full of style and flair, that you can really look great each day. No more solid black clothes that cover up every part of your body. Start to show a little more skin, and work with the angles of your body to really emphasize areas that make a difference.

Eye-Catching Women's Clothing For Plus Sizes

Being fat or large structured does not mean that such ladies can't look beautiful. They can look gorgeous if they go for attires which suit them the most. Accentuating the positives and combating the negatives can make anyone look stunning. This can be possible only if women's clothing is selected according to figure size and shape. This is especially true for ladies with plus sizes.

With changing fashion statements, girls with plus sizes can find a lot more types of women's clothing for themselves. Thanks to new designers who have become aware of the fact that not every lady has a perfect figure. They have created some really gorgeous patterns for such girls so that even they can look beautiful. Such designs are not too tight rather they are crafted with a flowing texture so as to flatter their structure. Clothes with dropped down waist need to be avoided as these are a sure "NO" for plus size girls. They are difficult to carry off and can be quite uncomfortable for girls wearing such dresses.

Women's clothing which are printed with pine strips and vertical designs are best for these ladies. They will make them look much slimmer and taller. Moreover, they should also go for dark and bold colors. This is because such colors have a tendency to give a slimmer and slender look to the wearer. Don't go for balloon or fluffy long skirts. Try some A-line and free flowing bottoms that are neither too loose nor too tight. This will give the lower body portion a sleek look. In regards with tops, V-line tops are the best option to go for. This neckline highlights neck and face thereby focusing a viewer's attention towards the face.

If pants are what they are looking for among huge assortments of women's clothing then they can go for straight trousers. These trousers are tailored without many curves. Such a pattern will make these ladies appear slimmer. Even for them, dark colors must be opted for that can be paired up with tops of contrasting ones. Black, brown, dark grey, bright pink, blue and more such forms must be chosen to have that gorgeous feeling. Don't go for too low waist as it would be inconvenient to wear and will also give an unpleasant appearance. Whether, girls like skirts or trousers, the best way to dress up is to go for bold colors for bottoms and for pastel contrasting hues for the tops.

Finest women's clothing can be selected if ladies with plus size go for entire body measurements. This will help them to know about their actual figure size. With this, girls can buy the finest dresses for themselves. There are some nice patterns that have been especially designed for small events. Georgette is the best material that can be used for making most of the apparels for girls with this size. This is so, as this material is free flowing that neither sticks to the body nor becomes fluffy even after all day long wear.

All these apparels can be obtainable from various online stores that offer a wide array of these attires of such size.

Plus Size Girls Are Sexy - It's Time For Plus Size Lingerie

For years, large sized women have been relegated to wearing bras and panties that look like big, white, underwire armor. For every twenty sexy nightgowns in the petite department, there was one flannel nightgown in a larger size. There were no plus size babydoll gowns, no plus size corsets and really no plus size intimate apparel to speak of at all. Well, times have changed. Now curvy women everywhere are expressing their sex appeal by wearing well-made, sexy lingerie and they demand more choices to help them feel romantic and confident for their next intimate encounter.

If you are a sexy, confident curvy woman, then there are now a multitude of choices for you in sexy lingerie. For instance, a curvy woman can now find plus size babydoll gowns that flatter even the curviest of figures. These gowns are cut to enhance a woman's figure and are made in a variety of colors and styles. A curvy bride can now bring a different babydoll gown for each night of her honeymoon. Even when the honeymoon is over, a good quality babydoll gown cut to fit a curvy figure enhances even the most average evening.

Another lingerie item that has not traditionally been available to the larger sized woman is a corset. Since historically a corset was worn to mold or shape a woman's waist into a tiny proportion, perhaps larger sized woman have just been overlooked. A plus size corset, however, does not necessarily mold a woman's waist, but merely enhances its already curvy shape. A woman with curves can feel sexy and confident wearing a quality-made corset in her size and they come in many different styles and colors. A plus size corset captures the romance and drama of days gone by, and it is a wonderful addition to any curvy sized woman's lingerie wardrobe.

All Women Think They Are Plus Size

All women think they are fat. Women, stop it. Calm down. I know you are generally not good at calming down, but you have to do it. Not only are you are driving men absolutely nuts by consistently asking men if you are fat, but you are also doing damage to your mental health and confidence.

Unless women get an absolute six pack seen protruding through their stomachs, they will think that the tiny pouch of skin they are carrying is ruining their lives by preventing them from having a good life by making them look fat. According to common female login, that same little pouch of skin is also what is preventing them from meeting the man of their dreams and having him fall in love with them.

To those women who the above paragraph resembles, please stop it. Calm down, take a deep breath and be rational. It will be ok, men probably think you are good looking. But men are not entirely barbaric, so you have to be a well-balanced person instead of a stomach-obsessed one, if you want to have a relationship.

Anyhow, I have digressed. Now that I covered the very skinny women who are convinced they are fat, lets turn our attention to chubby or overweight women who think they are fat. Well, those women are at least not delusional. I have no idea how to comment on such sensitive topics, so it may be worthwhile to leave that topic alone.

Generally though, all women, for some reason, think they are overweight. Women, while health, well-being and attractiveness are a big part of life, don't over-focus on such things. Be grateful for what you have and find confidence in who you are.

Quick Tricks for Slimming Down

Losing weight
is never easy and crash diets never work. We all know that proper diet and regular exercise are ideally recommended for weight loss. But sometimes you just need to lose those extra pounds fast. This is the usual problem of plus-size women who need to look great for a job interview, a romantic date, or instantly fit in a dress for a formal affair.

Here are some plus size fashion tricks that can help you look slim in an instant:

1. Avoid wearing layers of thick fabric since these make you look bigger. Instead, wear clothing that fits well and is tight fitting.

2. Hide your wide hips by wearing A-line dresses or skirts that skim at the waist. These will create an illusion of smaller hips.

3. Wear skirts at knee-length to create a taller look.

4. Do not button/zip up your shirt or jacket all the way. Leave some unbuttoned to create a slimming V neck.

5. Wear a flowing blouse over a pencil cut skirt to hide some bulges.

6. Avoid bulky clothing and designs with pockets or pleats on the side. These make your waist and thighs appear wider.

7. Buy shirts and blouses that flare at the side to make your waist appear smaller.

8. Choose dark shades of clothing and accentuate with simple jewelry.

9. Wear high heels or shoes with pointy toes to make your legs look longer. Avoid shoes with chunky and round heels.

10. Try fabrics that have floaty sleeves to hide those bulging arms.

11. Avoid Empire cut dresses and tops if you have a heavy chest. These will make you seem fuller.

12. Wear dark jeans instead of light-colored jeans and denim.

13. Forget using girdles. There are other comfortable garments available that shape the body.

14. Do not wear large printed blouses and dresses and prefer vertical to horizontal stripes.

15. Accept that you are size 16 and stop squeezing yourself into a size 12 dress. Find a plus-size dress that fits you perfectly.

3 Key Issues in Selecting the Best Women's Plus-Size Business Clothes

Many women hold responsible leadership positions in business and it is important to convey the right attitude in our clothing. Selecting the right women's plus-size business clothing will make a statement about how serious we are about working or playing at our job.

Here are 3 Key points to consider when selecting your plus-size business attire:

1. The right style.

If you hold a management position, then more tailored suit-type clothing is most appropriate. Avoiding form-fitting flimsy dress styles will communicate to others that you are there for business and not to flirt. What you wear definitely sends signals. Men are very much influenced by what they see, so send your message strong and clear that you are there to work and not to play.

Select the styles that most complement your shape. If you are pear-shaped (with larger hips and legs) avoid any clothing that would emphasize those areas. Styles that cut you in half should be avoided. These include tops that tuck in at the waist and are in contrast to your slacks or skirts. Solid colors for both the top and bottom that do not cinch in at the waist would work well. Suit coats that come down to your hips and are the same color as your skirt would be most appropriate and most flattering.

2. The right colors or patterns.

Generally most solid colors are acceptable and should be selected according to which look best on you. Sometimes dresses with patterns are appropriate if they convey business style instead of flirtatious style. Again, when you walk into the room, what are your clothes saying to everyone else. Are you commanding respect as a leader or will people snicker because you are inappropriately dressed. If you have trouble knowing what signals you are sending, ask a close friend to help you make your clothing decisions.

3. How your clothes fit.

It is important to wear clothing that fits right. If it is too large and baggy, it will make you look sloppy. If it is pressed and neat, you will look organized, tidy and setting that tone in your office. Have you ever noticed that what you wear determines your frame of mind? What I mean is, when you dress for working in the yard, you usually select your "scruffies" (clothes that are loose, baggy, and you are not afraid to get dirty). However, when you go to church or to an important gathering, you dress neat and "put together" to show respect and that you are well groomed. You do not feel like working in the yard with these clothes on. And when you wear your yard clothes, you surely do not feel like going to church! Select clothes for the office that will make you feel like doing office work. Yes, clothes do make a difference in your frame of mind.

Once you get the hang of it and realize how the right clothing will affect your attitude toward your work, you will have fun selecting those styles, colors and types of women's plus-size business clothing that will make you the most productive. And by sending the right signals to your employees by what you wear, you will see more productive work from them, too.

How to Dress to Enhance Your Figure

Most people did not know how to choose clothes to fit and more slender body shape when viewed. Well it's rather difficult for the affairs of this one. For that the author wants to give tips on how to choose clothes that appeared more slender and hopefully these tips to make you slimmer without working hard toil to go on a diet.

It begins by studying the tips of your body shape. Where the prominent part which is the center of attention from the troubled areas in your body so you look slim. For example, avoid belts that are too wide and big when your waist is too big. Women or if you have beautiful legs and sexy, wear knee-length skirt with a shirt or a simple shirt or tight T-shirts so that attention can be more focused on your feet.

For those who are very big on top, always avoid shiny fabrics in the area above. You should use a shirt with a darker color. Wear your boss or supervisor with a big arm, which fell loosely down to cover the hips and waist. You can use materials such as cotton. One way to look slim is to use one type of color of clothing. This will help you manage the overall silhouette.

Colors help you in many ways to look slim. The black color is the most chosen to interrogate a rather large body. But it does not mean you should always wear black clothes and did not dare to wear colored clothes. You can wear colored clothes as decoration but can be used to accentuate your assets. Large patterns also tend to add a big body. So look for a simple dress design to make the body appear more slender.

If your big hips, choose a dress with the addition of a small pad on the shoulder. With large shoulder pads will make you look very big, but you should avoid it. Put your boss on a lighter belly and dark stockings. Choose a pattern that falls down on your knees. This will disguise the pelvic area. So if you want to wear dresses, then choose the ones along the heel. Fixed select pattern A piece of line and avoid paying pinafore or pieces
Always select the material with a vertical line. This is one of the best ways to look slim. The use of vertical lines also makes the body look longer and slimmer. Horizontal line will add to the width of the body, so avoid its use.

Wearing loose clothes all the time is not the correct way to look slim. Instead, choose a dress that falls right in the body. Avoid using small-size clothing, which is smaller than normal size. It just makes you look ridiculous.

Wearing bangle bracelets and watches models sometimes make your arms look smaller. Avoid shiny fabrics of many colors. This will reflect light and make you look bigger.

A Perfect Fit With Ladies Plus Size Fashion

It has been confirmed by vast research that the majority of ladies to not fit into the 'normal' clothing sizes that so many stores categorise their outfits into. Although we tend to know our body sizes in these categories, e.g. 10, 12, 16, 18 etc. we all know that these 'standard' sizes are limiting and don't work for us 'odd' number sizes.

Many other retailers use Small, Medium and Large to describe their clothing sizes.

And although this means that more people fit into each category, it also means that clothes that are intended to be fitted or tailored will usually end up being too baggy or too tight. And trust me, this is never a good look. Particularly if you are going for smart and stylish.

It is difficult for many women to try and fit themselves in these restricting size margins, and this can be of particular difficulty for women searching for ladies plus size fashion. Not only do you suffer the usual stresses of finding something that fits, the retailers that stock plus sized clothing can be even more limiting.

And after all, finding something that fits and is stylish at the same time is not an easy task for anyone.

The best advice I can give on this subject is this; find a retailer that you like and stick with it! When you find a stockist who supplies clothing that is stylish, sexy, comfortable and fits your figure - the majority of their clothing is likely to have the same affect on your figure. So enjoy you shape and don't compromise on what makes you feel good!

Painless Plus-Size Bras

There is a misconception on how people think that the bigger busts a woman has, the better it is for them. It might be indeed pleasant for the male eyes to look at them, but that is not necessarily of the same advantage for the women who carry them around. Finding the right plus size bra is therefore essential in reducing their problems.

Some if not most women blessed with large breasts generally complain about the same things. Backaches, excessive perspiration around the breasts, painful pulled muscles when jumping or doing any type of exercise and an even bigger problem when they are pregnant.

Large breasts tend to go forward towards south. This makes the shoulders have to work extra hard to keep the back spine straight from being pulled down by the breasts. Have this regularly and an acute back pain is going to be unavoidable. Problem One.

Women with large busts have higher body temperature and this naturally triggers more sweat, especially during summer. Excessive perspiration causes annoying rash or breast acne. Problem Two.

Exercise is not an easy task for busty women. Their breasts would be all bouncy when they move and this may cause pain as the muscles around the breasts area are being consistently pulled during the sport activity. Problem Three.

Those problems need not be around any longer. There are some preventive ways that women can take to avoid them.

* First of all, find the right bra size. Research shows that over 70 percent of women wear ill-fitting bras. This can cause a long-term problem. So get them measured right.
* Purchase plus size bras that perfectly fit your breast shape and measurement. This type of bra is designed to support the weight of larger breasts. They will help reduce the back pain and hold the breasts in place when you move.
* With more amount of perspiration that busty women have, it is only wise to make sure that the bra is made of the softest and finest material to absorb sweat. Perforations on the pads will help the breast skin breathe more and reduce the chance to ever get acnes.

Today's bras also give more choices in style to the plus size ones. So you can already say goodbye to your grandma bras, and find new ones that look good on you, support you and most importantly give comfort to you.
