Body Shapes - How to Dress For Your Unique Body

Our body shapes are all unique. Fortunately, there are simple ways to determine what ensembles of wardrobe that is the most flattering to women's body shapes. The bottom line is to first determine your proportions, and then utilize our wardrobe ensembles to accentuate the best features--and hide everything else! It's what I'd refer to as "Enhance & Minimize".

Women body shapes are defined by how the curves connect the bust, waist, and hips.

With that in mind, the four basic body types are as follows:

  1. Apple body type are evident by a heavy top part of the body - 14% of women have this body shape. Generally the bust is three or more inches larger than hips. My advice is to emphasize the thighs, legs and butt in order to divert attention away from the waist and shoulders/arms. I recommend wearing long sleeves, and try to draw focus to the bust and neck by wearing, for example v-neck lines. Go with tops that "drape" over any love handles, like tunics and flowing tops with an empire waist (the waist begins just below the bust and flows outward). In the case of an endowed top (big breasts), go with dresses or tops that wrap around the waist and cross over the chest.
  2. Rectangular body type can be identified by a fall from the waist to the hips in a straight line that resembles more like a cylinder. About 46% of women have this shape. Tips: "pinch" the waist by wearing a belt to offer an illusion of a waistline existence or try to stick with ensembles that offer some kind of waistline feature that gives an illusion of curves to avoid looking lanky or boyish. Choose ruffles and frills to add silhouette or volume to give an impression of femininity to the figure. Avoid baggy jeans and track clothes that look boyish.
  3. Pear body type are determined by a heavy bottom with 20% of women having this shape. It is obvious that the hips are significantly larger than the bust for this body shape. The good news is there are ways to dress to create an illusion of a smaller hip and butt by drawing attention to the top part of the body such as a fuller blouse/top complimented by a properly fitted push-up bra.
  4. Hourglass body type considered the ideal shape and there are about 8% of women with this body shape. This body shape has a balanced size of hips and bust with a narrow waist. Since it's an ideal women's body shape, the options are more forgiving and should focus on flattering instead of flattening the beautiful curves.

Stay tuned for my more tips on how to dress to enhance your body shape.

Styles For Heavy Women

Being a plus-sized woman does not mean you have to sacrifice type. You don't have to hide behind baggy clothes to appear great. The greatest clothes for heavy women are tailored with clean lines. Don't sacrifice your personal design due to your size. Seek out clothes in unexpected places and learn to stay ahead of the style curve in your own person way.

Layering

Layering is one of the greatest methods to showcase your curves and feel comfy in your outfit. Many plus-sized tops are cut too short, where the bottom part ends at the navel. This is unflattering for most plus-sized women, since it draws attention to the belly area. Instead, wear a long tank top in a contrasting or similar colour under your shorter shirts to create an elongated look. Top your preferred sleeveless dress with a cropped cardigan or jacket.

Cardigans

Cardigans are an essential piece of a heavy woman's wardrobe. Feel great about wearing short-sleeved tops and dresses when you have a cardigan to complete the look. Knitted sweaters with three-quarter sleeves are perfect for summer, while longer sleeves and dark colors go perfectly in fall and winter. Try various necklines such as v-neck or scoop to add interest to your outfit. Pencil Skirts A pencil skirt works well for women with hourglass or pear-shaped figures. This product is important for the office or a night out on the town. Since the pencil skirt accentuates the waist, consider tucking in your shirt and completing the look with a cardigan. Kitten heels will look best with this skirt.

Belts

Numerous plus-sized women avoid belts, however belts assist shape your figure. Wearing a loose or flowing top with a belt positioned under your bust creates the appearance of a thinner waistline. Complete the look with a cardigan or blazer, and you're ready for a night out with the girls. Mid-Rise Jeans Low-rise jeans are not flattering on most people, including plus-sized women. When shopping for jeans, choose those with a classic or mid rise. This will allow you to avoid the dreaded "muffin top" and keep your belly and sides smooth under fitted shirts. Pick jeans with lycra for added stretch, and consider wearing them slightly above your belly button for the most flattering look.

Accessories

Accessories are a heavy woman's greatest friend. Take any old outfit and make it dazzle with the right necklace, earrings and handbag. This is where your personality could shine. Shop thrift stores for clutches and jewelry if you prefer a more antique look. If your favorite stores don't carry clothes in your size, search for handbags that represent the shops' signature types, and sport them with the clothes in your closet. Turn your jeans and T-shirt into something fabulous with studded earrings and a scarf.

Three Things That Make You Look Fat

When it comes to being a full-figured woman, while I love to love my curves, that doesn't mean that I like to look larger than I really am. When picking out pieces for your wardrobe there are a few things that you should NOT wear so that you don't add bulk to your already rounded figure.

MuuMuus

You probably knew that was coming but even for the sake of comfort you need to get rid of any over sized, baggy dresses - a.k.a muumuus. When you dress in clothes that are actually too large for you, instead of hiding your rounded curves, you are actually making yourself look unnecessarily bigger than you really are. Find fitted, tapered clothing that accentuates the curves you want to highlight as well as drawing any unwanted attention from those you want to hide.

Elastic-waist pants

Fashion has come along way baby! No longer is plus sized clothing just baggy tees and elastic waisted pants. You can now find trousers and jeans that fit many different full-figure shapes - including yours. Be adventurous and try out different name brands to find a pair that flatters your body as many designers clothing fits each person different whether you are an apple shape or a pear shape.

Granny Undies

They are called granny undies for a reason...they are for your grandmother. With so many lingerie retailers, there is no reason for you to be wearing granny panties. Nowadays you can find sexy matching panty sets in all colors of the rainbow. Sexy lingerie is the biggest confidence booster for any full-figured woman.

Steering clear of these three fashion faux pas will help you be more confident in yourself and your full-figured curves. Rather than hiding your curves behind unflattering clothes, flaunt them with fitted outfits.

How To Look Good And Feel Better?

Many women, no matter what age, no matter what shape or weight feel they do not have the ideal weight?

With aging our bodies change... our figure degrades. But sometimes even young fit women do not feel well in their skin. they have a beautiful body but think that they are not attractive. This issue comes from the belief that was created in childhood or in adolescence that we are not appropriate. We attribute rejection from others to our body image. But we all know that not everybody will like us and that we cannot like every body.

Our Body image is therefore related to our own perception, experience, or belief. If we become aware of this, then it is 50% of the issue resolved.

Then we can take action steps to correct. First of all, physical (with diet, exercise, re-looking, new hair cut, new wardrobe) but also with mental/emotional work (mirror work, self-love).

For 20 years I heard that I had big thighs and therefore believed that I was fat and unattractive. It cost me discomfort in society, missed opportunities in all levels.

Here are in brief the 9 tips:

Step 1: Take care of yourself

Step 2: Take Care of Your Personal Grooming

Step 3: Exercise To Help You Feel Sexy Even If You Are Overweight

Step 4: Get Plenty of Rest To Keep Up Self-Esteem

Step 5: Nice Clothes Will Help You Feel Sexy If You Are Overweight.

Step 6: Lose weight

Step 7: Eat better

Step 8: Sexiness Is an Attitude and State of Mind

Step 9: Tell Yourself That You Are Sexy And Beautiful For Just Being Who You Are

Be well.

Plus Size Designer Clothing Shopping Tips

Is shopping for plus size designer clothing fun for you? Most women genuinely enjoy a day at the mall shopping for the latest fashion trends, but for plus sized women, looking for new clothes is a major chore. Instead of getting excited looking for a hot style or a great bargain, these women are just looking for anything that has some style and fits properly. Shopping is no longer fun, but rather, is an almost depressing experience.

However, it does not have to be. It can, and should, be a fun and rewarding experience. I want to change the perception, and give you some great tips that will start making your shopping experience for plus size designer clothes truly exciting.

First, we need to change your mindset and expectation. Most women falsely feel that the only options are oversized skirts and really long dresses. The more you can cover up, the better, right? Wrong! Having all the extra material hanging off of you actually creates the perception of a larger body being hidden underneath than is actually there.

Let me ask you, how many times have you wished to lose just 15 to 20 pounds? Most plus sized women can do this almost instantly, at least in other peoples eyes, when they wear the right clothes for their body.

Focus your efforts on finding clothes that fit your frame. A nice A-Line skirt will do wonders for your body shape. Not only does it provide a slimming waistline, but it also over emphasizes the bottom of your legs to give the perception of a slimmer waist as well.

Avoid patterns in your clothes that tend to look stretched when they are on you. For example, blocks and rectangle shapes tend to stretch, giving off a look that is not near as flattering as a thin line or even a light floral print.

Above all else, focus on your neckline and chest area. Wear shirts and tops that show a little skin up top! This gives the visual image of a nice, long neckline, and takes the eyes to the more flattering parts of your body, and away from the mid section that you may be concerned about.

There are so many great plus size designer clothes out there that are full of style and flair, that you can really look great each day. No more solid black clothes that cover up every part of your body. Start to show a little more skin, and work with the angles of your body to really emphasize areas that make a difference.

Eye-Catching Women's Clothing For Plus Sizes

Being fat or large structured does not mean that such ladies can't look beautiful. They can look gorgeous if they go for attires which suit them the most. Accentuating the positives and combating the negatives can make anyone look stunning. This can be possible only if women's clothing is selected according to figure size and shape. This is especially true for ladies with plus sizes.

With changing fashion statements, girls with plus sizes can find a lot more types of women's clothing for themselves. Thanks to new designers who have become aware of the fact that not every lady has a perfect figure. They have created some really gorgeous patterns for such girls so that even they can look beautiful. Such designs are not too tight rather they are crafted with a flowing texture so as to flatter their structure. Clothes with dropped down waist need to be avoided as these are a sure "NO" for plus size girls. They are difficult to carry off and can be quite uncomfortable for girls wearing such dresses.

Women's clothing which are printed with pine strips and vertical designs are best for these ladies. They will make them look much slimmer and taller. Moreover, they should also go for dark and bold colors. This is because such colors have a tendency to give a slimmer and slender look to the wearer. Don't go for balloon or fluffy long skirts. Try some A-line and free flowing bottoms that are neither too loose nor too tight. This will give the lower body portion a sleek look. In regards with tops, V-line tops are the best option to go for. This neckline highlights neck and face thereby focusing a viewer's attention towards the face.

If pants are what they are looking for among huge assortments of women's clothing then they can go for straight trousers. These trousers are tailored without many curves. Such a pattern will make these ladies appear slimmer. Even for them, dark colors must be opted for that can be paired up with tops of contrasting ones. Black, brown, dark grey, bright pink, blue and more such forms must be chosen to have that gorgeous feeling. Don't go for too low waist as it would be inconvenient to wear and will also give an unpleasant appearance. Whether, girls like skirts or trousers, the best way to dress up is to go for bold colors for bottoms and for pastel contrasting hues for the tops.

Finest women's clothing can be selected if ladies with plus size go for entire body measurements. This will help them to know about their actual figure size. With this, girls can buy the finest dresses for themselves. There are some nice patterns that have been especially designed for small events. Georgette is the best material that can be used for making most of the apparels for girls with this size. This is so, as this material is free flowing that neither sticks to the body nor becomes fluffy even after all day long wear.

All these apparels can be obtainable from various online stores that offer a wide array of these attires of such size.
